I undertook some research about community life and working in groups in order to give some perspective to life at Hoathly Hill as well as the continuous engagement in community life, which at the time consisted for me in attending the weekly community meetings, hosting or going to the Saturday cafes, monthly work days, becoming a member of the community meeting chair group, forming a conflict resolution/community building group and meeting up with community members old and new.

My work in Transition Town Lewes previously provided my background perspective on community life. Moving from a founding core group organising events to the unleashing and creation of several working groups, I gained a lot of experience of the development of organisations and working in groups. We were fortunate to have an experienced facilitator working with us, training and supporting us in our participatory community events.
